Upright clumps of blue-green stems mature to a golden copper festooned with fluffy white seeds from August through October and beyond, stems remain upright through the winter and are excellent in flower arrangements, drought and salt tolerant, clay and Black Walnut tolerant, provides excellent nesting and roosting habitat, great winter food source for grassland birds from Prairie Chickens to Chipping Sparrows and Juncos.

Germination - Very Easy: No treatment. Needs warm soil to germinate.
