This majestic oak produces yellow/green flowers in spring followed by acorns that mature in a two year cycle, classic broad oak leaves turn an excellent red/brown in fall, valuable timber, pollution & salt tolerant, likes slightly acid soil but will grow in slightly alkaline soil as well, good Rain Garden tree, these acorns are an important food source for wildlife (including bear, mice, chipmunks, elk, moose, bobwhite quail, wild turkeys and flying squirrels), suitable for Bonsai! State tree of NJ and provincial tree of PEI.
