Showy large 4-6 inch flattened clusters of small white flowers offset by large sterile flowers at the margins from June to September, large oval leaves up to 8 inch long, good rain garden plant, tolerant of poor soil (including clay), spreads by root suckers to form colonies, blooms on new wood, can be cut back to 12 inch tall each year and grown more like an herbaceous perennial to increase flowering and bushiness.
