Flat-topped White Aster Picture

Tall stems suddenly branch at the top to produce large flat arrays of white aster from August through September, each flower is only about 1/2 inch wide, but each cluster of flowers can be up to 12 inch wide, 3-5 foot long simple leaves ascent the stem, sand & salt tolerant, attracts butterflies and pollinators, host plant for several butterflies and moths including the rare Harris' Checkerspot (Chlosyne harrisii).
