A stately plant with starry yellow 2" daisy-like flowers from July through October, leaves divided into 3 narrow segments up to 4.5" long, anise-like odor, spreads by rhizomes, Goldfinches love the seeds, attracts butterflies and pollinators, tolerates very poor soil, clay tolerant, host plant for the Common Tan Wave Moth (Pleuroprucha insulsaria) Common Tan Wave Moth (Pleuroprucha insulsaria), Butterfly caterpillar, as well as other moths, recovers easily from drought.
