An unusual milkweed producing many small clusters of creamy white flowers from June through September, the numerous whorls of 1-3" leaves that crowd the stem are so narrow as to be almost grass-like giving the plant quite a soft appearance, long delicate seed pods food plant for Monarch & Queen Butterfly caterpillars (Danaus plexippus & D. gilippus).
