Clusters of 1” wide flat pink flowers at the end of semi-woody prostrate stems produce a continuous carpet of color from April through June, mats of soft needle-shaped 1/2” evergreen leaves on creeping stems, can even be established in lawns to provide an outstanding effect in spring (blending in with the grass the rest of the year), thrives in dry and poor soil – often found in the wild on rocky outcrops, average to dry, sun to partial shade, 2-6” tall.

Native Range: New York, s. Ontario, Michigan & Minnesota, south to n. Louisiana & Georgia, escaped to New England. Rare in PA & TN
