This plant is quite similar to Winged Monkey Flower (Mimulus alatus), but it is less rare, it's flowers are produced on long stalks, & it's native range is slightly different, found in marshes, bogs, stream banks & wet meadows, food plant for Buckeye butterfly caterpillars (Junonia coenia), moist to wet ground, sun, 1-3' tall.
