Whorls of tiny yellow flowers in May & June are followed by yellow/green seed capsules cradled by reddish bracts, red-tinged leaves up to ½" wide & 12" long are fringed in long white hairs, a charming tufting ground cover, spreads by seed & short rhizomes. Clay, gravel, & acid tolerant.

Native Range: Labrador across QC and s ON with some populations in the mtns of AB & BC, south to LA & the FL panhandle
Germination - Easy: Cold Stratify 4 weeks, then fluctuating temperatures (ie. put outdoors in spring)
