Bright blue flowers with white stripes borne on frequently branched leafy stems from August through September, basal rosette of 1-4" leaves all year, culture is similar to cardinal flower but will tolerate a little more sun, average to moist soil, morning sun to shade, 1-4' tall.

Native range: s. Maine to Manitoba, North Dakota & Wyoming, south to the Georgia mountains & Texas. Rare in ME & MA
