Delicate 3/8" yellow flowers on diffuse branches July through September, wonderful velvety-looking smooth oval leaves up to 1" long turn a lovely red in fall, host plant for Gray Hairstreak (Strymon melinus), enjoys sandy or rocky acid soil.
