Large (2-3.5") yellow sunflowers from July through September, long serrate leaves up to 7" long & 3" wide with slender points, forms colonies by rhizomes, easy to grow, attracts butterflies & bees, Goldfinches & other birds love the seeds, food plant for lots of interesting insects including the Silvery Checkerspot & Gorgone Checkerspot Butterfly (Chlosyne nycteis & C. gorgone) & Painted Lady (Vanessa cardui) caterpillars.
