Unusual 1" dense globe-like flower heads of small white flowers mingled with pointed green-blue bracts from July through September, spiny-edged yucca-like leaves up to 2' long, looks like it belongs in a desert – not the eastern US (!), good cut flowers fresh or dried, a great low maintenance plant, drought resistant. Native Americans in what is now Missouri used this plant to make sandals for over 7,000 years!
